On 04 June 2008, Executive Director Ann M. Veneman of UNICEF, presented UNICEF’s annual report to the Executive Board at the United Nations.
In comments made by Ann Veneman, a dramatic 91% drop in Measles has been achieved in only a few years. As an interesting side note, since 2003 The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints along with UNICEF have worked closely to confront measles in a vast international effort. Future challenges were also made clear in comments made by Executive Board Vice President Gert Rosenthal. One such challenge is the recent dramatic increase in the cost of food.
